The 4-week moving average was 628,500, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week\u2019s revised average of 632,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 6pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">The advance seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment rate<\/strong> was 5.0% for the week ending May 9, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the prior week\u2019s unrevised rate of 4.9%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 6pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">The advance number for seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment<\/strong> during the week ending May 9 was 6,662,000, an increase of 75,000 from the preceding week\u2019s revised level of 6,587,000.
