The 4-week moving average was 630,500, an increase of 6,000 from the previous week\u2019s revised average of 624,500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 6pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">The advance seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment rate<\/strong> was 4.9% for the week ending May 2, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the prior week\u2019s unrevised rate of 4.8%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 6pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">The advance number for seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment<\/strong> during the week ending May 2 was 6,560,000, an increase of 202,000 from the preceding week\u2019s revised level of 6,358,000.
