The US DOL\u2019s Smartphone App\u2026Made for Your Employees<\/div>\r\n<\/div>As previously described<\/a>,\u00a0the US Department of Labor (DOL)<\/a>\u00a0has launched its \u201cDOL-Timesheet\u201d smartphone application designed specifically to allow employees to track their daily hours worked. The app marks another step in the DOL\u2019s<\/a> strategic \u201cPlan\/Prevent\/Protect\u201d initiative of increased workplace compliance enforcement efforts. This app serves as a reminder to employers to make sure that their systems and processes accurately\u00a0account for employees’ hours worked.<\/p>\n

As more and more employees\u00a0become familiar with, and start to utilize, \u00a0the DOL\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0timesheet app, they may become more likely to file wage and hour grievances with the DOL<\/a>.\u00a0For employers, an important protection against\u00a0employee grievance filings is making sure that\u00a0your business satifies\u00a0its obligations under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).<\/p>\n
