Here are five fast facts on the changes related to employers:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Employers are required to pay the additional sixty-five percent of the premiums not paid by employees.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Employers may claim a credit on <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f941.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 941, Employer\u2019s QUARTERLY Federal Tax Return<\/a>,<\/span> for their share of the COBRA premiums.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Payment of the premium subsidies by employers and the credits on <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f941.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 941<\/a><\/span> happen only after employees have paid their share of the premiums.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Supporting documentation for the credit must be maintained by employers, but need not be submitted with the <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f941.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 941<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;\">Employers are required to pay the subsidy for eligible employees covered under COBRA or similar state laws.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; color: #000000; font-family: Verdana;\">Over the next several days, <a href=\"mailto:info@visionpayroll.com\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Vision Payroll<\/span><\/a> will be posting additional articles on implementing the changes to COBRA continuation coverage required by the Act as well as other changes to payroll and HR by other sections of the Act.
