We know that we must pay weekly and daily overtime if the employee\u2019s hourly wage is below a certain rate. What are the new daily overtime rates for Nevada? Employers must pay 1\u00bd times an employee\u2019s regular wage rate whenever an employee who is paid less than 1\u00bd times the applicable minimum wage rate works more than forty hours in any workweek or more than eight hours in any workday. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laborcommissioner.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Tanchek, Labor Commissioner<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/business.nv.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Business and Industry<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/nv.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">State of Nevada<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/old.visionpayroll.com\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Nevada-4-1-2010-ANNUAL-BULLETIN-for-OT.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">announced recently<\/a> that\u00a0new wage rates, below which daily overtime may be applicable, are effective as of July 1, 2010. The rates are $10.875 per hour for employees to whom qualifying health benefits have been made available by the employer and $12.375 for all other employees.
