The 4-week moving average was 526,250, a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week\u2019s unrevised average of 532,250.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; font-size: 10pt;\">The advance seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment rate<\/strong> was 4.4% for the week ending October 17, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the prior week\u2019s unrevised rate of 4.5%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; font-size: 10pt;\">The advance number for seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment<\/strong> during the week ending October 17 was 5,797,000, a decrease of 148,000 from the preceding week\u2019s revised level of 5,945,000.
