The 4-week moving average was 531,500, a decrease of 9,000 from the previous week\u2019s revised average of 540,500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; font-size: 10pt;\">The advance seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment rate<\/strong> was 4.5% for the week ending October 3, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from the prior week\u2019s revised rate of 4.6 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; font-size: 10pt;\">The advance number for seasonally adjusted <strong>insured unemployment<\/strong> during the week ending October 3 was 5,992,000, a decrease of 75,000 from the preceding week\u2019s revised level of 6,067,000.
