Using the new guidance, employers are now instructed to report on line 12a \u201c65% of the COBRA premiums for <a href=\"https:\/\/old.visionpayroll.com\/kb\/2009\/04\/assistance-eligible-individual-under-notice-2009-27\/\" target=\"_blank\">assistance eligible individuals\u201d (AEIs)<\/a>. Previously, employers were instructed to report \u201cCOBRA assistance payments [they] made.\u201d Also, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">IRS<\/a> clarified that when entering the number of <a href=\"https:\/\/old.visionpayroll.com\/kb\/2009\/04\/assistance-eligible-individual-under-notice-2009-27\/\" target=\"_blank\">AEIs<\/a> provided COBRA premium assistance, reach <a href=\"https:\/\/old.visionpayroll.com\/kb\/2009\/04\/assistance-eligible-individual-under-notice-2009-27\/\" target=\"_blank\">AEI<\/a> who paid a premium should count as one individual even if the premium was for a policy that covered more than one <a href=\"https:\/\/old.visionpayroll.com\/kb\/2009\/04\/assistance-eligible-individual-under-notice-2009-27\/\" target=\"_blank\">AEI<\/a>.
